Electrical shock

Someone is in contact with a live electrical source.

Do not touch the person until the power is off.

1. 1 Cut the power Switch off the supply or unplug the device, only if it is safe to reach.
2. 2 Do not touch them yet You can be shocked too. Use a dry, non-conductive object if you must separate them.
3. 3 Call your local emergency number Electrical shock can affect the heart even when the person looks fine.
4. 4 Check breathing and response If trained and they are unresponsive and not breathing, start CPR.
5. 5 Keep them warm and still Stay with them until help arrives.
